Dr. AlRasheed, in an event in Asharqia chamber of commerce:
standing out at work starts with loving what you do and does not end with self-development

Dr. Saleh Al-Rasheed spoke in an event recently organized by Asharqia Chamber’s training center, about (the seven strategies for shining at work). Shining at work is an important matter, it is considered as one of the most important qualities of new employees, since it is considered as a tool for new employees to show their potential and ability to compete. By being devoted to your job, you will give yourself as well as your community, and that will give you satisfaction as well as happiness. He asserted that shining in your career is source of life, a steady performance would assure job security, and since the job-market lacks that guarantee.  He asserted on the importance being initiative, and self-development as well as establishing a wide network of relationships as the most important means to stand out in your career. All those aspects will reflect on the employee’s personal, social and professional life.

During his presentation of the seven strategies, AlRasheed said that the first strategy is (to love your job). The second (to be initiative), the third is (having effective networking skills). The fourth (having good communication skills). The fifth is (self-management), the sixth is (effectiveness and impact), and seventh is (self-development). AlRasheed considers these strategies as a connected series. He said If you love your job which the first strategy, you will be initiative, which is the second strategy.  That in turn necessitate applying the third strategy, which is having an effective network.  To have an effective network, you need to master the skill of dealing with superiors, as well as identifying leaders, adopting positive views that helps in building and strengthening the relationship with co-workers. According AlRasheed that includes the ability to manage any disagreements or misunderstandings with colleagues, as well as dealing with all the difficult types’ colleagues, and master the skills of dealing with customers.

According to this sequence, this requires applying the fourth strategy: which is having good communication skills. That includes speaking, listening, thinking and nonverbal skills as in body language, written language, voice and gestures. That leads us to the fifth strategy, self-management. AlRasheed explained that strategy as chance to discover your strength points, priorities, time management, self-motivation and self-promotion.  The lecturer then moved to the sixth strategy, which is being effective. That requires professional integrity, quality and focus. Then concludes with the seventh strategy, self-development. Applying all those strategies is bound to give you a shining career.
